Day trips

These special day trips lead beyond central Berlin to unique locations with strong historical, cultural, or natural significance.
They can be combined with a city visit or booked as standalone experiences.
Preferred modes of transport can be adapted to each excursion: by bike, by public transport, or with a private chauffeur service.

Teufelsberg

Just 10 km west of Berlin’s city center rises Teufelsberg, an artificial hill built from World War II rubble, making it the highest elevation in former West Berlin.
During the Cold War, the site became a major NSA listening station, used for intelligence gathering across the Iron Curtain.
An abandoned site, full of street art and stunning panoramas, has become one of Berlin’s most unconventional landmarks.

Tempelhof Airport

Tempelhof Airport is a remarkable historical site.
Originally designed as part of Hitler’s vision for “Germania,” it later became a symbol of survival during the Berlin Airlift in the Cold War.
The former airfield has been transformed into an immense public park. The old runways now serve as paths for cycling, running, and skating, making Tempelhof a unique blend of architecture, history, and urban life.

Potsdam – The Royal City

Located southwest of Berlin, Potsdam was the former royal residence of the Prussian kings.
Now Germany’s largest UNESCO World Heritage Site, Potsdam is one of the most popular excursions from Berlin. Key locations such as the Glienicke Bridge (“Bridge of Spies”) and the Wannsee Conference site can also be included.

Lakes & Nature Around Berlin

Berlin is surrounded by lakes, rivers, and green landscapes that offer a peaceful contrast to the city.
The surroundings can be explored by bike, van, or on the water, providing a relaxed introduction to Berlin’s natural environment and its lesser-known history.
